ABOUT IRAQ

  A new Iraq was born with firm resolution, great power of vision and a heart, which has been increased in strength by a determination for ascent and for overcoming difficulties.

But the birth, as all other births which came before it in the horizon of humanity and in our nation, was not able to render ineffectual the croak of ravens, nor the hissing of snakes or the crossing of far crocodiles from the seas of their family in order to help the beasts of earth in their attack against the sun, in a desperate hope to obscure its light which radiated from Baghdad or to shed the blood of its people in a fake hope and out of an imagination that the generous blood shed on the soil of Baghdad and on the soil of Iraq could hinder the plants and trees from becoming green, from blossoming and from carrying with its fragrance pollens which might tempt the appetite of butterflies, and thus be able to carry with the news of new faith and resolution, with the dew and tears, a pollen to every tree whose branches and leaves become dry or ceased to give fruits now that the water ceased to reach its roots and was confident that no one could take care of its fruits and guard its plants, trees and growth.

  After an absence from the fields, arenas and objectives of the Almighty, when He Has Willed it to be extended, your role returns again to you, Iraqi men and women of valour and sacrifice, the heroes of our valiant armed forces under all your titles…your role is regained, now that you have snatched the opportunity to re-assume it deservedly with your special traits which emanate from your great faith in all that brings satisfaction to Allah and gratification to the homeland and the nation. :: 030106

  Al-mighty God has taught us, through his prophets and messengers, how the general can emerge from the particular and how the latter is governed by the former, by law and by corollary, when He made the Arab Nation and its vast land a cradle of prophethood and heavenly messages and bestowed upon Iraq the honour of having a greater share when he chose Abraham, the Iraqi, a father of prophets.

  All I can say is presenting my condolences to you , and to reiterate the Muslims linguistic formula on occasion , like this : (God has created us , and to him we return. May God give you long life ) In a letter of reply like this, there may be no room to say all I want, not to acquaint you with Saddam Hussein's and his comrades in the leadership way of thinking, or of how Iraqis think through them , and of the kind of principles they believe in . :: 011018.

  All this in addition to the authentic records of history may also expound how and why the Elamite Persian King Schuturk-Nachonettihad stolen the renowned Code of the Iraqi King, Hammurabi, and how he attempted to erase Hammurabi's name beneath these laws out of envy and hatred of that great Iraqi king and in pursuit of a remedy for the illness of mind and soul which that Elamite had inherited from his fathers.

  All we want to say is that Iraq, as people, leadership and representative bodies at all levels and with different designations are determined, without the slightest retreat, to fight a grand jihad for lifting the sanctions. :: 980117

  Furthermore, Iraqi people has evidenced in all circumstances and time-phases that it has borne, and is still bearing, a special burden and honour compatible to its doctrine and the historic role in reviving the Nation, we have to state the truth and act in pursuance of it, irrespective of the consequences.

  Furthermore, our problem does not lie within the Iraqi people, but with others, you know.

  Gallant Iraqis, who are a source of joy and delight for your leadership, but a malady for the enemies, who are salubrious to great Iraq, but arrows set at the foes of God and humanity.

  If some quarters in Iran abandon what is not praiseworthy of the past, they will see and find that the Arabs, including Iraq, have abandoned this and left it behind long time ago.

  If the enemies of Iraq imagine that they are able to deceive a people mobilized with all the factors of national zeal and the experiences of life it has experienced, burned with the fire of its enemies, motivated by the factors of defending life in the midst of its great principles and the immortal legacy of our nation, towards those who wanted and are still trying to assassinate them, a people that made tens of thousands of generous sacrifices of valuable lives every short period of time as a result of the shortage of food and medicine and due to the use of force, we say to them, in the name of the great people of Iraq, that they are wrong and it is better for them to re-read the ancient history and this glorious history carefully in order to derive the lessons that distant us and them from the abyss of their evils and their souls inciting them to evil. :: 980717

  If the Security Council does not take a decision in fulfillment of its obligations towards Iraq as stipulated in the unjust resolutions which it took alone and without the participation of Iraq as reciprocal commitments, then Iraq has resolved to take a decision consistent with the recommendations of people's representatives at the National Assembly and shall assume full responsibility for it since there is no other alternative course of action. :: 980117

  In addition, we say to the American peoples, what happened on September 11, 2001 should be compared to what their government and their armies are doing in the world, for example, the international agencies have stated that more than one million and a half Iraqis have died because of the blockade imposed by America and some Western countries, in addition to the tens of thousands who died or are injured in the military action perpetrated by America along with those who allied with it against Iraq.

  In Iraq, and in the Arab rural regions, and that could be true in different degrees, all over the world , people would fight each other, and some of them maybe killed, but no one ever burns the crops of others. :: 011018.

  In late 1997, and in the beginning of 1998, Iraqis waged battles and took positions that put the witnesses who have no interest in the embargo, vis a vis the tendentious and evil people in a manner that makes the two lines separated by a clear plain determining unequivocally what is in the battlefield between them without allowing an unexposed maneuver. :: 980717

  In only one place, which was a civilian shelter, which is the Ameriyah Shelter, more than four hundred human beings, children, young and old men and women, died in Iraq by American bombs.

  We call to memory the significance of the Revolution on the occasion of its birthday, as a revolution of a new and special style, as a beam of brilliant light that dismisses darkness, God willing; now that any one who believes in it and its course has been liberated from the slavery of impossibility and unfeasibility and has become free in mind, conscience, programme and objectives in this age, and now that the people of Iraq and its leading party have pronounced in one resounding voice: "Perish be the Impossible", to build, construct and plant the sublime morals and the highest values in the conscience as well as in the mind, so that the zeal may, without the slightest hesitation, overflow onto their fields, and that the sun may rise, yet never set, on the flagpole bearing "God is Most Great", a banner that has embodied the relationship between what is on earth, the Lord of Heavens and Earth and the role of Man, the great and free in his land which is the cradle of early civilizations and first calls for unity of God, and the relationship with the Lord of the World, such calls which freed the Nation from the burden of idols and the intermediaries between the Merciful Lord and Man, the faithful, heedful, true and trustworthy, and capable by the will of God.

  We can expound the reason when Baghdad's eyes are closed, all Arabs' eyes are closed too, and why when it wakes up once more, the sword would be associated with the pen, both being based on wisdom, yet each forming a flank founded on the great morals of civilization and the eternal heritage of our Nation where giant falcons fly to protect the sky and land of Iraq so that Baghdad should proceed with its course to the summit armed with the principles of construction and advancement, and holding the sword to defend the sublime morals.

  We comprehend now why and how the happenings took place in the two Islamic states concerning their proclamations or beliefs and between two subjects described as Islamic states, namely, Iraq and Iran.

  We have assumed, and perhaps rightly so, that there will be no more ill-judgment that may deceive the majority of the nation's rulers and their loyal subjects into believing that Iraq' s call to the nation to join forces on the path that safeguards its strength, dignity, power and wealth, could be interpreted in a way that might empty the call of its original and responsible content and hinder its progress for discharging its role with honour and responsibility. :: 980117

  We have experienced in Iraq, even under the embargo circumstances, the possibility of economic cooperation based on the memorandum of understanding with various Arab countries and have found it possible.

  We have only to search for a certain aspect of history so as to be rightly guided to its causes and accurate description and to say that any account of this conduct lies squarely within a description contrary to that of the people of Iraq, its system, principles, leaderships and their morals.

  We in great mujahid Iraq do not accept this, having relied upon the principles and morals we have just stated.

  We say to the Arabs and friends, and by so doing we will exasperate our enemies and please our friends and brothers: the reason behind all that took place against Iraq and its revolution is that Iraq made its choice on the national, pan-Arab, and international levels when its great faith reached its summit, to be totally free , to play its role and to be firmly settled on its route. :: rev

  We would like to say to the whole world including the Iranian peoples that the victory won by the Iraqis is a great humane victory because it is a victory of progress over backwardness, of faith and truth over falsification and of construction over destruction.

  We, all, face the plight of the embargo, threats, conspiracy and the courses of evil coming from outside Iraq. :: 980717

  What concerns us, Arab brothers, is not what causes harm to our people or to the entire members of the greater Arab nation in more than a place or in more than an Arab country including Iraq. :: 980117

  What Iraq is losing as a result of the aggression and sanctions will be recompensed from the momentum it gains from steadfastness and resistance as well as from the spiritual lessons and meanings inherited in the history of humanity. :: 980117

  When one million and a half Iraqi human beings die, according to Western documents, from a population of twenty five million, because of the American blockade and aggression, it means that Iraq has lost about one twentieth of its population.

  When our master Abraham, peace be upon him, the father of prophets, and the grand grandfather of our prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him, decided to leave Iraq, where he was born and lived together with his family, to roam other part of the Arab Homeland at the order of God, to preach his call for monotheism and faith which he had originally started in Iraq, In the name of the Compassionate, the Merciful, "And Abraham: behold, he said to his people, 'serve God and fear Him: What will be best for you- if you understand!. :: 980117

  When the Iraqis were freed from the weakness which afflicted some segments of the Nation, Faw was liberated, as was every part of Iraq usurped by the Iranians and on which calculations of their known illusion were built.

  When we look deep into the background of any result attained before giving it the marks it deserves, and before saying anything about it, we must first say that we think that, being the advanced example of their Arab nation at this stage, the Iraqi people have taken a stand which is the result of a ravishing mixture of the destiny's choice for them and their own preparedness to play their role in line with God's will to make the Arab nation the forerunner of humanity in all commendable deeds. :: rev

  When you, the valiant people of Iraq, renew your pledge to Allah,to yourselves,to the nation and to humanity at large,that you will continue the march of jihad,you do not only strengthen your adherence to your belief and your sacrifices for the Faith, whose meanings have been eloquently expressed, in your sacred blood, as well as in your suffering, sacrifice and perseverance, but you also ensure final victory over the enemies of Allah, your enemies . :: 030106

  While the American official was poised there to announce he had become the unrivaled and unopposed King of the World and that all must kneel obediently to him without having the right to reject his crowning or to oppose any stance by Washington, and while false witnesses and slaves were about to place on him the absolute crown on which the names of most world states were inscribed save two or three who tacitly grumbled with discontent, albeit with a faint voice and shaken rejection, and, when the tyrant viewed with contempt everything, a breeze carrying the scent of prophets who were born in dignified Iraq and who bore the meanings of message and the great revelation blew on dignified Iraq to reinforce faith in the chests of the men and women of Baghdad. :: 980117

  Why , then, are your armies occupying Mecca and the land of our Prophet? Why are you occupying the regional waters in the Arab Gulf, in addition to territories in its countries ? Why is your ally, the Zionist entity, occupying our holy places , and territories , in Palestine , by using your arms, and financial, political, media, and moral support? And , why are your administration killing people , including children in Iraq, Afghanistan, and in Palestine now, just as it did , before that , in Lebanon , Sudan , Somalia and Libya , and the list of Arabs and Muslims to be killed is long ?! :: 011018.

  Why and how do US administrations ally with some countries to kill and cause famine to the Iraqi people and destroy its cultural structures and even archaeological monuments?!.

  Why do even the religious schools there not teach the history of the Islamic State and its jurisprudence at the time Iran was part of it? By corollary, how and why did Iran launch aggression against Iraq? The war subsequently broke out and lasted for eight years.

  Why do we then celebrate this day in Iraq? And why do the honourable Arabs react with it with rejoice!?.

  Why is such an act so severely judged, although, in comparison, the killing of a man is much more a serious act than the burning of crops ? This customary law in the Iraqi countryside, and maybe in the Arab and world also , is based on two reasons: First: a man, can think, hide, and confront others, while crops cannot run, hide, or draw a gun on who wants to harm them . :: 011018.

  With Iraq, the ardent sons of the Nation stood, praying to God, the Almighty, to bestow victory upon the Iraq of faith, Arabism, humanity and lofty meanings in its confrontation with its enemies, the enemies of the Nation, each according to his position and to what was available to him or to what his position enabled him to take as an expression of his position.

  Yes, brave and faithful men of our armed forces, men of the great and loyal Army of the Nation, Yes, ardent sons of our Arab Nation, and sons of the great people of Iraq, the citadel of glory, faith, righteousness, virtue and justice, Today, the Sixth of January in the year 2000, corresponding to the year 1420 of the Hijra, is the prime of this year and of all other years. :: 000106.

  Yet the experience, which has been replete with the morals of construction and ardour in our fight against the unjust and injustice, the despots and despotism for more than thirty years during which we have lead the great people of Iraq within the Ba'ath responsible, collective leadership, has taught us scientific, practical and social lessons as regards the People and its role with respect top the Nation's vitality as a base and a practical, spiritual and moral profundity, the basis of which is the human morals with which we interact and share our Nation and people.
