  Brethren, our prospect of the people's role, its revolutionary masses and its comprehensive, long-term strategy springs from our doctrine which deems the people a sufficiency to our struggle, fight, jihad and construction, and a historical means intrinsic in all the principles and morals we aspire after in the course of the victorious Revolution and its objectives, and not merely an unspecified, temporary means.

  Brothers, when Iraq emerged victor on that day, it had, before that, defeated jugglery and imposture with certainty, loss with faith and the cause, disunity with unity, aversion with piousness, grudge with tolerance, hatred with love, egoism with altruism, loneliness of isolation with company and collective work, darkness with light, introversion with extroversion, feeling of weakness with invocation of factors of capability inside oneself, hesitation with decisive resolution, indifference with seriousness and clear stand, laziness with perseverance and work, arrogance with modesty, exaggeration withexactness, igwith knowledge, unbalanced haste with accuracy and patience, negligence with alertness and presence of mind, disruption with continuity, pessimism with optimism, slowness with speed, quantity with the faithful quality, lies with honesty, honesty, and honesty, vagary with truth, fear of foreigner with fear of God, obedience of foreigner with love of our people amidst the Nation and humanity, with full trust in the people and in oneself, after our trust in God.

  Brothers, When we celebrate and rejoice the Great Victory Day on August 8, 1988, we do not only mean to affirm the worth and importance of heroism which is closely connected to its genuine source, the base of deeply rooted faith and the morals of a nation that has always been mujahid, holding a banner, faithful to the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful, trustworthy of the value and effectiveness of all relevant principles and shouldering the responsibility of playing the leading role of development as a decisive element in the conflict.

  Dear brothers, Similar conditions have put our nation in a difficult dilemma in past times, our glorious nation had always proved to be equal to the challenge, and faced it in the name of God, and proved itself and gained victory over those who wanted to humiliate it, usurp its right in life in general, or its right to chose its way and aims that do not harm the principles of humanity at large, and its right to recover its rights from usurpers, so as to lead a free and decent life, after making due sacrifices by a unified and organized action that leads the nation to achieve certain aims on the basic of the good intentions and collective will of joint action. :: 020422.

  Do not select for posts of leadership those who claim higher roles for themselves in success or victory and disclaim their responsibility for failure or defeat. :: vic.

It has also become clearer and clearer how and why the day of the great victory, August 8, 1988 is worthy of celebration and rejoice by us, the Iraqi people, the Nation and all good and peace loving peoples.

  Ever since that day of crowning glory and of outright victory, the Iraqis, together with the noble sons of our glorious nation, recall with an appreciation of special taste that great day.

  Had this victory not been accomplished, God forbid, and had another, different thing been achieved by the stoned Satan's act of strike, materialism, promulgated by the West under the leadership of USA in the Middle East region and perhaps in other places, would have created a horrific situation of destruction caused by the backward condition that is secluded in a lacerated image albeit dressed in religion or in some aspect of it.

  Iran had been victorious twice throughout its history, despite its military defeat: once, when the Arab Moslem armies killed the leaders of war, arrogance and aversion in the first battle of Qadissiya, Nehawand and other battles, such as Hormuzan, Rustum and finally the King of the infidels Kisra Yazdejird.

  It is a victory even for those who are still in need of someone to lift for them the veil and burden of illusion, darkness and aversion with these conceptions in Iran.

  It is not just one victory.

  It is the right, indeed the duty too, of peoples and nations, not only the Iraqi people, to chant:"Long live August 8, 1988" as a day of victory of all peoples, for righteousness over falsehood, sublime morals over the abysses at the lowest bottom.

  It was not a victory for Iraq only, but for all what is contrary to weakness and feebleness, which we have mentioned and which is well known to everyone.

  It will be a torch of light linked to that ancient history of the nation, the voice of a strong lesson in the nation, scented by the blood of sacrifice,in order that our posterity will remain on the right path,son after father,regardless of the size and value of the sacrifices made, until victory is achieved over the forces of evil and injustice which mean our nation ill ;infringe upon its rights and harbour greedy intentions against it. :: 030106

  Know that nothing is better than renewing hope in victory and that the human relationship between superior and subordinate revives optimism in the soul and gives it steadiness to continue in circumstances of war or conflict when victory is won through endurance, patience and determination. :: vic.

  Our chests are filled with the great conviction in our victory, whose fruit will be in our hands and whose banners will be all over our heads as a great people in a glorious nation, God willing. :: 030106

  Right had triumphed over falsehood; it was a victory for the sublime morals of humanity at large, including those Iranian peoples that believe in an anti-aggression course of policy.

  Such a man has achieved two triumphs over the side of opposite description and tokens: one victory within the soul derived from one's feeling that man is a living part of a whole rather than a cast-off, acting in such a manner as to satisfy the soul in performing his duty towards the One worshipped alone; and another victory over the enemies when only the impossible conceals them from death.

  Such were the happenings: victory has thus been ascertained within and without the soul of Iraqis at the starting point and likewise in the ultimate result and as a natural outcome of this kind of conflict.

  Surely we shall be victorious by the people and by the leadership of all prominent titles in our Nation: rulers or faithful leaders, or the heedful educated, self-sacrificers, mujahids and the steadfast of the People and Nation, men or women, civil or military, judges or university professors, artists, journalists, writers, great engineers or others.

  The accelerated calls for the use of force, for harming Iraq and for launching aggression against it, until the war started on 4 September 1980, the persistent continuation of war, and the call for all that run counter to and contradict peace, are all matters that can hardly be interpreted except by saying that Iran had gone astray, taking a direction contrary to all that could help man achieve victory inside his soul and in his environment, over the elements of evil and over failure and weakness.

  The dawning of the eighth of August, and God's manifest victory on it come as a reward and a prize for an eight-year battle with those who wished our people ill and our nation harm, backed by international Zionism, imperialism and the wicked Jews in the occupied land and in their accursed freak entity. :: vic.

  The day of all days is not a mere day of victory of an army over armies, nor a mere triumph of a will of determination, on its material basis, over a counter-will with shaken material basis, but rather, an official declaration for those with reason, heralding the birth of a new will, commensurate with the new call in Iraq, the country of challenge, faith, civilization and commitment.

  The second time was in the second Qadissiya. So, we shared with Iran two victories, over ourselves and our common enemy: viz., the two victories at the two battles of Qadissiya.

  The victory on the day of all days was not a traditional military victory according to the standards of victory of one army over other armies, when only the technical and professional preponderance is in favour of the victor party.

  The victory, its preludes and the concomitant delivery in addition to what we have stated help us understand why embargo on Iraq has lasted for more than nine years now; why the states bordering Iraq, including Iran, have performed the task of field embargo in such a manner as to covetously encourage and support the aggressive Americans and Zionists to continue committing genocide against the Iraqi people by hook or by crook, and why the Iranian peoples have been refrained from visiting the holy shrines albeit they were incited for intrusion into Iraq by force.

  Then the faith makes victory. :: 020903

  Then the fire of your enemy will be extinguished and he will be in the dark unable to find his way to save himself from your victory upon him. :: 020903

  Then, just as the victory at the first Qadissiya was a victory for humanity and a victory for faith, so too the day of all days at the second Qadissiya was a great victory for humanity and faith.

  These means have come brave, trustful, sacrificing and willing to get victory in defending the faith. :: 020903

  This is the beginning of victory, to add to this, you should not search for victory in the hearts of men on your side, but feel victory in yourself first and fortify it with these values. :: 020903

  This victory, apart from being a victory for Iraq and the Nation, on the basis of these conceptions, is also a victory for those who believe in these conceptions in Iran.

  Those who are befriended by the devil will end up in hell whereas victory will be the lot of the patient and faithful believers. :: rev

  Through this sureness and faith, after depending on God Almighty, we won victory and we will win victory at last in the battle of Um Al-Ma'arik, God Willing. :: 020903

  Victory has salvaged the Iranian peoples from all that and rescued the peoples of the world from the domination of Western materialism whose view and way of life would have had the upper hand at the expense of balanced, spiritual principles and the right moral and living aspects for a long time to come.

  Victory is faith inside the hearts, and when it becomes a faith it become immune against confusion created by the surrounding environment including kinds of weapons and technical means that your enemy possesses, media, false news and the psychological confusion which is created by your enemy. :: 020903

  We would like to say to the whole world including the Iranian peoples that the victory won by the Iraqis is a great humane victory because it is a victory of progress over backwardness, of faith and truth over falsification and of construction over destruction.

  We would see that these traits explain to us the essence of the positive points being fairly recorded for our people and for whoever has caused harm to it in the past or still doing so, whenever the traits which are in common with the past generation yet associated with its history and people are summoned, or on the occasion of the Great Victory Day in which we are delivering our speech, albeit the difference in time between past and present.

  When its main bases were complemented with suffering, forbearance and human, intellectual and psychological sacrifice, the will of power achieved victory over the basis of illusion, fanaticism and brute force, whose bases were shaken by the facts encountered in life in its broad sense, and by the former's attachment to the values of the Lord of Heavens and Earth, when the confrontation extended over eight years, and when all good-intentioned calls failed to curb or dissipate the illusion of those under its spell, to weaken their covetousness and to defuse their bigotry.

  When you, the valiant people of Iraq, renew your pledge to Allah,to yourselves,to the nation and to humanity at large,that you will continue the march of jihad,you do not only strengthen your adherence to your belief and your sacrifices for the Faith, whose meanings have been eloquently expressed, in your sacred blood, as well as in your suffering, sacrifice and perseverance, but you also ensure final victory over the enemies of Allah, your enemies . :: 030106

  Whereas the officials in Iran, until the last days or last months prior to the victory on the day of all days, were of the opinion that their objectives would be materialized in war and aggression.

  With Iraq, the ardent sons of the Nation stood, praying to God, the Almighty, to bestow victory upon the Iraq of faith, Arabism, humanity and lofty meanings in its confrontation with its enemies, the enemies of the Nation, each according to his position and to what was available to him or to what his position enabled him to take as an expression of his position.

  Yes with yourself first and before any step to use the materials in the environment which you control or you think that you control it… and before you start to convince others on the possibility of victory, convince yourself and strengthen your faith in victory to the extent of absolute sureness that no wind could shake and now power could sway or eliminate it from your heart, after depending on God. :: 020903
